 Les Allues In Les Allues.there are 4 bar/restaurants, minimarket, newsagent(Tabac), ski and boot hire and a local church. There is an Olympic ice rink, swimming pool, bowling alley, climbing wall and Gym in the Meribel leisure centre.There are many groomed areas for Cross country skiing, snowshoeing from the front door, skidoo rides and Dog Sledding are possible. There is a vast choice of Ski Schools available in the ski resort of Meribel. (Book early to ensure a place). In the Summer there are also tennis courts, White water rafting, Mountain biking, squash. Les Allues (1100m) is situated in the Trois Vallees ( 3 Valleys)- a world renowned ski area with 600km of pisted skiing, reaching a height of 3,100m. This ski area is accessed from Les Allues via the 6 person Olympe gondola (Bubble)- a 10 minute walk from the chalet, or 2 minutes by car. There is also a free bus service to and from Meribel. The Skiing: Beginners: Meribel Altiport area is perfect for learning with new protected areas. Mottaret also has a small protected tow lift for beginners. Intermediates: This is the perfect ski area for intermediates. Take a 3-valley pass and go exploring. Advanced: You have several excellent mogul fields plus the famous couloirs in Courchevel. Off piste is excellent and we would advise you to take a specialist mountain guide to make the most of it. Snowboarders: Apart from endless off piste you have two excellent snow parks. One in Meribel and one in Mottaret. Plus more in Les Menuires and Courchevel. The Telecabine (Bubble) takes you to La Chaudanne in Meribel, a pisted area with a choice of lifts enabling you to link with all areas of the Trois Vallees. The ski schools and ski kindergarten are situated here. The lift system is modern and fast and enables you to ski to Courchevel, Val Thorens, St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires and La Tania. There is also an 18 Hole Golf Course open in summer at Meribel Altiport just 10 minutes drive from our self catering apartments. Golf tuition available. Stunning views from the fairways, golf driving range, clubhouse, excellent restaurants nearby. A challenging and beautiful course and a must-do - please email for golf information pack. At the end of the day you can return to Les Allues via a village ski run, snow conditions permitting, from where it is a two-minute walk to the chalet, or via the Telecabine or shuttle bus. Les Allues has a creche and nanny service and there are childcare facilities in Meribel as well. Meribel also offers an Olympic ice rink, Swimming Pool, Bowling Alley, Climbing Wall, all in the Leisure Centre. |
